Skills Training Facility In Eagan Teaches 'real-world' Policing

Rasmussen operates two- and four-year degree programs in law enforcement. It also offers a certification program for students who have a degree from another institution. Twenty-four students are accepted into the skills program each quarter. Completing it takes two quarters about six months. Aerobics And Weight Training Combined Lower Blood Sugar

Led by trainers, patients walked on a treadmill that raised the uphill grade by 2 percent every two minutes for the aerobics. Weight training, also supervised, was done on machines that worked muscles in the upper body and legs, with more weight added as participants increased their strength. That was one of the first things I noticed," said Deidra Atkins-Ball, 44, a biology professor, diagnosed with diabetes a year before she joined the aerobics-weights group. A distant aunt with diabetes had lost both legs and her vision to the disease. "I remember as a kid having to do things for her, going to the store for her," Atkins-Ball said. "It really scared me." The researchers found that only the group that combined aerobics and weights both lowered their blood sugar and lost weight, although all three of the fitness groups reduced their waist sizes. Fewer patients in the combo group started taking new diabetes drugs than in the other groups.

Thailand, Hungary And Iran Win 2 Golds Apiece In Bodybuilding

(Xinhua/Attila Volgyi) BUDAPEST, Nov. 16 (Xinhua) -- Thailand, Hungary visit our website and Iran each won two gold medals on Saturday at the 5th World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championships in Budaors, just outside of Budapest. Sawaeng Panapoi of reference Thailand won the men's bodybuilding 80kg category, while his compatriot Roontawan Jindasing took gold for the women's fitness physique in the 165cm class, pushing up the Thai wins to five. Hungarian women got two golds in fitness physique categories. Jennifer Toth won the women's junior gold, while the over 165cm gold went to Dorottya Nemeth for the fourth top slot among the Hungarian women. Iranian contestants triumphed in two men's athletic physique categories. Ali Sorour Poor won the 170cm division, while Aghil Moradi triumphed in the 180cm category.
